Hey everyone
I myself actually own a '99 Audi A4, but I married into an '87 Cavalier!
Had thoughts of getting rid of the Cavi and getting somethin newer, but then realized "hey, we have 200K on the odo and have practically no problems with the car!" Dang'd thing starts up fine, runs good, gets us there and back, and has minimal leaks.
I've decided to fix up the ol' Cav to make the best of it while we have it. I basically wanna put in a decent sporty suspension (nothing like a race setup...its my wife's daily driver) and do some minor engine upgrades to get the best out of all four of thos little naturally aspirated cylinders that I can! =)
Funny thing, though...after making 2 posts, I get a forum warning!!! =0 I posted a tire question in here figuring I'd get flamed for a n00b question in the wheel/tire forum. Mind you, I also did this out of respect for the forum so as not to waste anybody's time in the wheel/tire forum.
What do I get for my efforts? :
You have received a forum warning:
"Warning: Update your registry and make an effort to post in the correct forum. Read the rules.
Expires: Thursday, March 10, 2005 11:39 AM PT"
I tried to contact the forum admin to ask why I was so harshly warned, but didn't get a response. Anyone know what they mean by "update your registry"? I registered 2 days before I got the warning...
Anyway, good to be here. I've gotten some good responses to the few posts I've made already, so this seems like a pretty cool community.
by registry, they mean your profile. fill it out. fill in what car you have, if you done any mods, or any future mods. it helps us on JBO when you ask a question like "will this intake fit my car?" or "what parts are availible for my car?" you ask something like that it really dont tell us what car/engine you have. and if your profile is filled out, we can go look to see what car you have and help you out better.
Im a Xbox 360 fanboy...and damn proud of it!!
It means we want you to put your vehicle information in your registry. When you ask questions about certain applications, it helps to know what year/engine/model car you have, and if you don't have your registry filled out, we really can't help you.
I'm not sure what the warning meant by posting in the correct forum, but just because you are a newbie, doesn't mean you can't post meaningful questions in the other forums. Take the warnings as a "just a reminder" unless you really did something wrong, we'll give you a harsher warning or ban.
Don't sweat it

Well welcome aboard man. Even if you think a question is a newb question, there is no stupid question to ask if need information on something, people here are happy to help. A lot of times if you do a search you'll find what you need too. But don't be afraid to ask questions.

"Hey man is that a Cavalier?" "Yeah." What you got in it?" "It's stock." "Oh."

Thanks for the warm welcome
I'll fill out my profile. I guess I'm just used to providing the needed information about my car in my post when asking such questions as "will this fit..." etc.
And I'm definitely familiar with that wonderful friend of mine called "search"
I've used it MANY times over at the Audi World forums.
Thanks for the help!

Heh heh.
I actually barely even deserve the Audi. My parents bought it for me a few years ago before I graduated college. We got an absoute steal on it b/c the dealership we bought it from was owned by a friend of ours. But then again I do pay for insurance, repairs, and all mods myself. I'm certainly glad to have the opportunity to own it and don't for one second take for granted that I was given such a wonderful gift. (I say that b/c of the hundreds of spoiled brats I've met in my life that don't appreciate what they have!)
On a side note, as much as I LOVE my Audi, the Cavi is what I drive around in every time my Audi is at the dealership getting fixed!!!
(Hit 200k on the Cavi yesterday and its still tickin'!)
