catback 2.25 inch, with a resonator would sound better, a straight pipe will be raspy and high pitched

you could also go with from the manafold striat pipe to a resonator to a aftermarket muffler.
that would give it a deep sound as long as you go with a big muff!

and your car would be screwed up from that due to a bad reading from the 2nd o2 sensor

If you just want the sound- buy a thermal muffler and have an exhaust shop custom-bend a catback and weld it on for you. I had that done on a Focus I once owned, and it came out sounding very nice. Besides, the difference between mandrel bent and compression bent will be almost unnoticeable on a j-body from what I've heard. Actually, if you just want the sound, you can pick up a few decibels just by having the thermal muffler welded to your stock exhaust pipes. Place I had mine done did the pipes and everything for just a hair over $100. Just to weld the muffler on is usually around 50 or so.

ahaha in that case do it....

but down here in Toronto, Canada straight pipes wont pass emmission requirements...

The car has to be atleast 15 years old, because cars 15 years old and over don'thave to be e-tested....

I live in indiana and no emmisions checks here either and for the second O2 sensor there is a O2 simulator that you can get for it to take care of it

98% of the stuff on my car was illegal in MD. Just keep the stock exhaust if you have do get in trouble. My friend runs a straight and has had no problems, sounds great too!

If you want a deep sound...straight pipes isn't the way to go. It will sound like a thousand bees are chasing you constantly and you'll deafin' yourself and the people around you.

If you want the deep tone get a 2 1/4" piping & Magnaflow or Borla Muffler. If you are still not satisfied with the sound, get a resonator from Magnaflow.
