hi i am about to install coilovers on my 2002 cav z24 and have done alot of reading on how to do it i plan to use my factory struts (ya i no i should change them i'm not lowering that low)and need some visual on the install i live near toronto and could meet for some instruction or some good pics step by step so i don't screw any thing up. thanks all and hope for your help

Even though, you might lower it just a little bit, you have to remember that your struts & shocks were only designed to take a certain height. If you drop it even a little bit, your giving it less room to absorb which will lead to bottoming out. Your decebt ride MIGHT last for a little bit but eventually your strock struts will wear out and not be able to handle the drop.

Honestly, do it right the first time to avoid headaches. In order to take the springs off, you gotta take the struts/shocks off anyways.

I'm just giving you good advice and saving you time and headaches.

i know the headaches involed i plan to do it right in the winter i got these tom motor sport coilovers not a great brand but will do for a month or so . totally i understand the conciquence but thanks for lookin out for me

please, please for the love of god, just do it right. sell those coils and get a quality set up. i know you asked for pics on how to install but id rather see you do this right. installing cheap stuff is going to ruin your suspension and cause other things to break which in the end your gonna end up spending the money anyway. now if you still wanna do it then fine by me but im just sayin'. take it from someone who knows from experience

its not worth it to take the cheap route I know from experience also....

I suggest 1.5 inch drop (for best handling) lowering springs and you can get some

KYB AGX shocks for a reasonable price compared to other shocks

Definately.... I just finished installing my Tein S Tech and KYB AGXs... love the handling I can take a 45 mph off ramp at around 85 now (safely of course with no traffic guys...I know what you're thinking lol) Don't go with any off brand bull@!#$ coilovers or anything, man. A bud of mine thought he was genius by getting coilovers from Ebay for like 60-70$. And what happened? They busted in like a week. Note though is you drop your ride 1.6 in or more , AGX's "voids" the warranty.

Another side note like everyone else said...it is alot easier and less stress to do the shock/springs all at the same time. The stock struts/shocks blow when lowered. A bump is like riding the Millenium Force at Cedar Point everytime. Good Luck though!

Not only the facts about what everone is saying is true, but you only want this for a month or so then your going to do it the right way?? Dude don't even waste your time on something cheap that will only cost you in the long run.

Becasue thats the only thing these cheap coilovers are good for. You might as well buy spring tensioners at your local auto/trailor store to tighten up the spring and lower the ride..its just as unsafe and looks just the same

@!#$'em, do it, i did, im in the same boat, i know exactally what im getting myself into, but i want a lowered car NOW< i dont wanna save up for another month or two and get good @!#$, ill do that in the winter..................................................

i would say do it rite! Sell the coil overs and get actuall lowering spings! a buddy of mines whole front end dropped strait to the ground..then he had to get new rims
