Hey guys

i went to extreme auto works tonight (customs place) and they were gonna do a catback exhaust for me and my friend (who drives a cobalt).

what size piping should i get....2.25? should i get dual or single?

any other tips i should have done or not to get done with this? this is going to be a n/a engine and i just want to get as much performance out of it as i can.

i have an OBX header and the guy is just gonna leave my regular catty on, because he said that it wouldnt make alot of difference to get a high flow one.


so please let me know your opinions on what to do.

How are they bending the pipe...that would be my first question.

2.25 is a good diameter...as for single or dual...it all depends on your preference...check the performance forum FAQ...that will answer a lot of your questions.

since you said you want as much performance as you can get I'd go with the single, dual is gonna be added weight, with no real benefit.

For your motor, I would suggest a 2 1/4" piping. As far as single or dual...well...it comes down to looks and preference. There is no real need to have a dual outlet on a 4 cylinder BUT if your into looks, you can get duals. I like duals so that's why I have them.

Also, make sure they aren't crush bending your piping (which I doubt a performance shop would do). See if you can get it mendral bent or compression bent.

^^ right. if possible get mendral bent piping. like said before there really is no reason to run duals unless you like the looks. your not going to get any more gain out of a dual as you would a single

Stock cat? Isn't the in/out diameter smaller than 2.25"?

If so.. I would not use the stock cat.
