changing fog lights....very bitter
Monday, December 05, 2005 2:02 PM
well after 3 weeks or so of trying to get a guy at work to change them for me I got sick of the excuses and tried doing what he said. which was remove the bolts to the headlight assembly and disconect the corners and romove out of the way, then reach down and replace the fogs.....

ya, makes it sound realy easy mean while you cannot see $#@$ to get the old fog light out and then the black ring clip that holds the headlight bulb in falls out and breaks(GM Quality) cheap plastic breaks so easily but I am sure they will find away to charge a lot of money for it........

anyways, I am done with my bitching, was there actually an easier way of doing this. keep in mind my car is lowered and was not any easier by reaching from under the car, i thought by removing the headlight assembly that I would be able to see the actual fog light bulb.........of course GM can make something that easy that was us newbs pay money for something that could be made easy for ppl to do from home.

ok, here we go. in less than 2 minutes I:

read your post
went out to my car
laid down on the ground
reached up under the bumper and plastic peice under the car
grabbed ahold of my fog light bulb harness
pulled it out
looked at it
put it back in
came back in the house
typed this response

is it really that hard or do i have super human mechanic skills?

GO PATS!!!

Or jack it up. Loads easier than taking your headlight assemblies out.

Let me start by saying I work for a GM dealership and a machanic told me to to take the headlight assembly out and the headlight fell out and the plastic piece broke, that is why I was pissed cuz that piece once broke on my moms grand am and cost like $40CAN for something so cheap........No need to be a jackass about it. I asked if there was an easier way and all you had to do is tell me how you would do it. or do what jason rubito(beatz) and Jbody2nr and give me tips..........

Sparks (Puddin') another thing, you read my post and then went and did what i was asking about and them came back on just to be a smart ass. you have to much time on your hands and you need to get a life.

go to hell rookie!! you asked a question, i not only told you how simple it was, i also gave you the time frame its possible to do it in. i wasn't being a smart ass, i was being helpful.

and i need a life? i posted that comment a little before 3 pm. i'd been awake for like 16 hours and worked a 13 hour day. i came in to the forum to see what was up. thought instead of sleeping, i'd post a few comments to help some noobs out. so go to hell. learn some resepct and don't ask questions if you don't want a freaking answer. you won't get help from people if you shoot your mouth off like a little punk ass kid. learn the ropes rookie.

GO PATS!!!

Same thing could be said of every "veteran" who answers a question with a smart-ass/sarcastic comment.

Kind of a two-way street if you think about it.

Ya I know I said things I shouldn't have but like the tittle said I was bitter.

Sparks, just like you I also work long days and was stressed and I now do relize you were trying to help and took it the wrong way. In my defence I am not a Newb I have been on theis site for a while and I have modded my car in a good way and I am sure you can agree on that. I admit I just dont have the hands on skills of installing some even then easier stuff....wish i did but i dont

Maybe that makes me a newb and if so there is noting i can do
