so hey everyone, i just got myself a $128 ticket for my window tint...i guess 21% isnt a good thing up here in minnesota....they like to be able to se what we are doing!
so...i know i can go somewhere and pay even MORE money to get the tint removed, but yeah i dont really feel like it. the state trooper told me to use a razor blade, but im wondering...how well does a razor blade do it?
also, i know state laws are different..but if anyone might know, (im from minnesota by the way) i dont have to remove all the tint, right? i should have asked the cop, but i think i just have to remove it from the door windows? (i have a 2-door)

Windshield No tint is allowed on the windshield.
Front Side Windows Must allow more than 50% of light in.
Back Side Windows Must allow more than 50% of light in.
Rear Window Must allow more than 50% of light in.
Sticker Requirements The sticker to identify legal tinting is required between the film & glass on the driver’s side window.

That sucks man. It appears you have to remove all your tint. When I got one in my dads tahoe we went and got some sepreate front side windows that had no tint from the junk yard. left all the panels off and went and had it looked at. They cleared the ticket. Then we went back home and put the tinted windows back in and put it back to normal. MN tint laws suck. Good Luck. I would think a razor blade and some water/windex would do ok.

i work for an autoglass shop and install window tint. up here in canada you can have Tint on the windshield (banner). and you are allowed 35% tint, 20% and 5% can get you a fine, You can have the rear windshield as dark as you want same as quarter windows . when ppl some come in to get tint and want a darker shade than 35% we ask them to sign a waiver stating that we are not liable for any tickets or fines the get.
Anyway you can get a liquid window film stripper or just us windex and ripp the tint off and scrape the glue off with a razorblade, dish soap and water mixed works too
Careful you don't scratch up the glass. Make sure the razor is -flat- against the glass.

usually any tint isnt legal in any state. it all depends on how much of a dick the cop wants to be.

yes it is legal in every state but everyone that gets their windows tinted are like 30% or darker which is usually illegal in any state
Ya, Ive found that usually cops wont pull you over for just tint. if you have no seat belt, loud system, and a visually appealing car then your a target.
