Im planning on getting a new exhaust. what size shouldi get? I was wanting to get 2 1/2 or is that to big? I would be getting a free flow cat. and maybe a flowmaster muffler.

Thanks

2 1/4 inch would probaly be better. unless you plan or have some sort of FI like boost or nitrous.
make sure you include a resonator along with the exhaust to cut down on the raspyness

my exhaust now consist of stock piping no mufflers and a aftermarket resinator and is raspy right now. Just want to get a deeper tone like an srt-4. I know its not possible but it sounds good

The larger diameter piping you go, the lower the exhaust velocity, which is crucial for proper operation of the vehicle. Lower exhaust velocity could equal fried valves.

As mentioned above, unless you are boosting or n2o, stick with no more than 2.25

The resonator will lower the tone somewhat, as well as cut down on the "weedwacker on crack" sound.

Also, put a high flow muffler on. That will help.

Get a turbo if you want to sound like an SRT-4... or just get an SRT-4.

^^^No doubt.
SRT-4s sound the way they do because turbos double as a muffler. The turbine sits directly in the path of the exhaust and it is impossible to replicate that exact sound. You can get it pretty deep with a good mandrel bent 2.25" set-up with a resonator and a muffler but you are never going to get that badass idle sound that turbo cars make without a turbo.
