How much gas does my '99 5-speed RS 2.2SOHC hold on a full tank?
My gas gauge doesn't work so i'm trying to figure out how many miles i can go before filling up by using my trip-odometer. Right now i'm estimating a 12gallon tank so i fill up every 220-250 miles.
I get an average 24mpg city and 37freeway.
I think its 14 gallons. But, I could be wrong.
dan
How can i tell if the tank is plastic or metal? (other than getting underneath it and looking)
have to get under and look
metal tank is silver
plastic is black
most ive ever put in is 13.4
so i think its either 13.5 or 14
i didnt even know they had metal or plastic choices
Some people here know way too much about cavaliers.
hehehe
I believe that 99 and before have metal and 00 and after have metal.

It's around 14.2 gallons. I got the car to empty (died on me), put a gallon in, drove about 1/4 mile to a gas station, and put another 13.3 gallons in.
