okey well i thought i had the cap on tight enough where my oil filter is located (04 cavi) and well i wasn't far enough in my garage so i had to back up. Well i started the car and the cap popped off. now there is oil all in my engine bay. Mostly on the bottem end of the engine. How can i clean this off? Will water do the trick?

You'd need an engine degreaser of some type, as long as the oil hasn't turned into a thick sludge any degreaser should clean all that oil right off.

I'd also make a suggestion of using paper towels or something disposible to wipe up as much before you spray and wash it down so that it doesn't send too much of the mess down the street.

Just a thought.

Don't forget to double check the cap before you run her again. If you thought it was on tight and she popped off, you probably cross threaded the plastic cap. I did it the first time I changed the oil. A small file will correct any damaged threads if you're careful or else $19.99 at the stealer. Also, don't forget to make sure the rubber o-ring is on the cap as well.
