Sign on name is permanent. Posting name can be changed.

you can always send a message through "Contact Us" and request your account be deleted. Once its deleted, create a new one. You havent been around for years so its not like you are losing anything.

Nobody really sees your sign on name unless they take the time to view your profile. I couldn't tell you anybody's sign-on name, but I know a lot of people's posting name.
