Is it Narrow Band or any other kind?? I just wanted to know what type Narrow band or another type of band???
Thanks
-Nick

-Nick
and thanks for the reply

prob gm service manual
My car may run 18s, but I can do your taxes in 10 seconds flat.
JBO lube - they would never have enough in stock and we'd never see RodimusPrime again

Sorry, its spelled Nernst...
Robert Bosch Gmbh was the first company to develop and use the lambda probe (oxygen sensor measuring deviations from lambda, or stoich A/F ratio of 14.7:1). The technology is based on a Zirchonia electrochemical reaction where the voltage developed between the two electrodes is proportional to the amount of oxygen in the sensors atmosphere. Nernst cells develop voltage in a non-linear fashion between a lot of oxygen, and very little oxygen, with lambda (this term is very often used in statistics and bell curves, the output of the Nernst cell being a bell curve measures deviations from lambda from -1 standard deviation to +1 standard deviation) being in the center of the two at around 500mv (.5v). The maximum range of the Nernst cell is 0 volts to 1 volt. If you see an A/F gauge that measures in lambda, you'll notice that the gauge numbers go from about -1 to +1, which relate to standard deviations of the current A/F ratio...
Narrow band means that the resolution band is narrow (0 to 1 volt). Wide band sensors measure in a broader range, and consequently more accurate.

what is up with the 2,3 or 4 wire oxygen sensors??? i have a 2002 pontiac sunfire coupe and i want to buy some oxygen sensors but im finding that they sell 2, 3 or 4 wire oxygen sensor...can someone help?
"Sunfire got stolen, all i have is the J to remember it by"
^^^They are probably heated oxygen sensors.....
The store your shopping at is probably trying to sell you "universal" sensors.... just go to a parts store and tell them you want a stock replacement for your specific car.... and slap them upside the head if they try to give you anything else....
Autozone trys to pull that crap on me all the time..... and the guy at Car Quest thought my Cat was a muffler (I don't shop there anymore)... make sure you know what you wan't / need before you walk into those places.

I almost had a guy at autozone arguing with me on my cat, I asked for a 2.25 in/out cat and told him it was for a sunfire (didn't know if there was a third pipe on the stocker), he tried to suggest the stock one.

why do sensors come with 2, 3 or 4 wires?
"Sunfire got stolen, all i have is the J to remember it by"
1 wire for reading, 1 wire for ground, 1 wire for power to the heater, the other one may be constant?
