Hey guys,
I've been around here for a while, I gained a lot of information here when I had my 96 2.4 Grand Am that was turbo'd. Since I bought a GTP which is my toy, and now I got a 2002 Sunfire for everyday driving. Its the 2.2 OHV / 5 speed. I'd like to put intake and exhaust on it, maybe a short throw shifter to make it a bit more fun to drive. Just wanted to say hi. I'll post some pics of it maybe tomorrow... its freakin -14 degrees here right now. I've searched a bit for intake / exhaust info here... I'm wondering, does anyone have this intake:

Looks like it completely replaces the 2200 plastic box. Also, are there any headers that just bolt up to the stock cat or is the stock cat not worth saving? Thanks in advance guys, I appreciate it.

the intake looks nice. just ditch the filter and get a k&n or s&b filter.
Try RK sports they got both and high flow cat's
My buddy rplaced his exhaust from headers, high flow cat , and exhaust to after market was great yet he had some back presure problems at low - mid range rpms so he swapped the stock cat back in and WOW the pressure came back and the car really pepped up in power. just some food for thought.
I bought that intake, should be here in a few days. Yeah, then header and catback I think, in that order. I'm not sure what kind of gas mileage a 2200/5speed should get, but highway I can barely get 30mpg. Might be time for plugs / wires as well. Thanks for the info guys, my last sunfire had a RKSport dual catback on it, sounded good but thats a lot of $$ at the moment.
You are better off not getting that intake, if you have not bidded on it yet. More than likely they are selling it for the 2.2L ecotec. Also, pacesetter is a very good brand if you are in the market for a new header. As far as the exhaust goes, just go to a local exhaust shop and have them make you one. 2 1/4" should be good enough, especially if you have a highflow cat.
