My cav has an oil leak on the back side of the engine. From what I can tell, it is below the exhaust manifold. The oil is dispersed evenly across the entire back of the motor so that I cannot pinpoint it. The car is running great but I am leaking a lot of oil. Does anyone have any ideas on how I can find where the leak is? I read in another post that on the older 2.2's it could be the oil pressure sending unit, but I dont see it back there anywhere on mine. Also there is no oil coming from the inspection hole under the clutch so I doubt that it would be a rear main. With my luck it's probably a head gasket. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
take it down to your local self service car wash with a jack, lift the beast up and pressure wash the sh*t out of the back side of the engine bay. and yes the oil pressure sending unit is on the back side of the motor underneath the exhaust manifold.
