OBX throttle body spacer on stock air intake manifold

Hey... today I took the car out of storage 98 sunfire GT 2.4L ld9 and was cleaning my throttle body about to put the spacer on then realised that spacer for the stock air intake manifold was PART of the actual manifold? just wondering if anyone else ran accross this issue..and what they did? Also if anyone has tips on what size of high flow cat I should be going with .... so far i have 4:1 Pacesetter headers ..not certain on the sizing of the downpipe?... 2.25" magnaflow catback ... I asked the local shops they say go with a 2" high flow cat from magnaflow because the catback flanges down to that... doesnt make sence knowing that the smallest point in the exhaust is just hindering performance... res is coming out... despite the raspy noises and willing to run straight pipe to the cat... also I heard that underdrive pullies can really throw off the roation of your engine and cause some serious damage if you go cheap... which I did ...ebay. Just let me know what you guys think on these issues any help is well appreciated.

1. throttle body spacers have no effect on our cars. The only thing they're good for is to drill and tap it for a nitrous or methanol injector.
2. I'd go with a 2.25" cat myself, especially if your catback is already 2.25".
3.I think under drive pulleys are overrated (arguable by some). there is no doubt some hp freed up by it. Whether an under drive is better than a stock sized lightweight pulley is up to you. As for problems with cheap ones, the big one would be if the pulley is out of balance. That could probably mess with crank bearings and other important stuff.

hm... it's really debatable if the throttle body spacer does anything... anyways... I have the part now so I need to install it ...and im wondering if It's possible with the stock Air Intake Manifold? .. 2.25" seems like the proper choice not certain on why the magnaflow cat back flanges down... kinda useless anyways I'll cut off the portion that flanges .. I'm going to try the OBX Air Intake Manifold if it won't fit on the stock one (yes im aware of fitment issues) but have seen people install them with no problems...

The theory behind TB spacers is that it makes the air fuel mixture travel farther before getting to the engine. This allows the fuel to atomize into the air allowing it to burn more completely and with more power. Since modern fuel injected engines place the injectors right before the intake valves instead of in the TB (or a carburetor) here is no need for the extra space. The only difference some people have noticed is that it makes a whistling sound in the intake.
