Few horsepower gains (at least those you can feel) are cheap or easy. Engine changes are usually easier with engines that are/were native to the platform. You'll need the transmission and electrics/electronics for whatever you choose.
while the 2.4 is easier than other motors to swap in, it's still quite a task. if you want good gains, the 2.2 isn't very good to work with. like I said, the 2.4 is a task to swap in (along with the tranny, harness ECM etc...), but alot easier to make power with. I would sugger=st buying ethier a GT or z24 with the combo you want and going from there.
