Hello, I just have a few stupid questions lol. This is on a 96 Cavy. First, When the high beams are on both the middle and outer light portions should be lit up, right? If not then do I just have the highs and lows switched? Second, where can I get some new push pins for the guard under the hood? Next, how do I get the corner lights out? Finally, I replaced my burnt out front turn signal and now it lights up but still doesn't blink ? Any ideas? Sorry kind of dumb questions but the last car I had was a little easier.
First, the center beams are the highs and outers are the lows. When the high beams are on, the lows are not. (There's a thread here somewhere you can search for that discusses how to modify that.)
Second, you can get the plastic pins that hold the shield on at auto parts stores. They usually have a book or card with samples mounted. Just take one of the old ones in to match it up. (You can also buy them at dealers.) I replaced the originals on my car with some that have screws in the center to expand them as I found them easier to remove later without breaking them.
Third, you have to remove the headlights to get the corner lights off. (Once the headlights are out, you can see the three nuts that hold in the corners.) To get the headlights off, remove the push pins and plastic shield (you mentioned previously), then the two bolts on top of the radiator support that hold the headlight brackets, and they should then lift out.
As for the non-blinker, make sure both front and rear bulbs are correct and good. (You can try switching sides.) Check the harness for damage.
