I'm currently looking to find a 2005 cavalier ls sport coupe, trying to find one that is blue without those damn accent stripes so ugly. But anyways, I had a 2000 z24 and it crapped out on me, a few cars later i'm looking to get a cheap newer simi reliable car that i can tinker with when I get bored. I can turn a wrench a little bit. I was just wondering, How much horsepower is safe to put on a 2.2ecotec engine without actually having to put in rods and what not. And what are the best N/A mods, I doubt i'll end up boosting it, I want it to be a daily driver, but also to add a few hp so i can get around annoying drivers and maybe some visual stuff.

unless you're thinking of putting a turbocharger or supercharger, you really don't have to worry about internals. they will handle your typical bolt-ons without problems. make sure you read up on the Performance FAQ for some good ideas of what you can do for a N/A DD.

Yeah i just read the performance faq, pretty good stuff. Yeah i'll be lucky to make more than 180hp without boosting it lol.
