hey everyone. i've been reading the site on and off, and figured it's time to create an account for questions now and again.
but first things first.

i'm from Saskatchewan canada, i dont actually own a j-body car, i own a 2002 alero. it has a 2.2 ecotec with a 5-speed. and you guys have alot of ecotec knowledge on here, thats my reason of joining.

mods i've done to the car?
nothing really.

i dropped a brand new engine in the car at 95xxx km. when i bought it, the motor lasted 2 weeks of easy driving. but gm installed a new ecotec and was priced at $7000. i only paid $120
i run 5w30 petro canada supreme synthetic in it.
and i have a k&n drop in air filter.

i have a tsuduo 4-2-1 header that i bought for $80 shipped sitting in my room ready to be installed. i'm just getting the rest of the exhuast pieces first.

what i want to eventually do is a wai, 2.4 intake manifold swap, bigger throttle body, wideband o2 gauge, 2.5" exhaust. and a tune. i'd hope for 160-170 whp.

i'm fairly happy with the ecotec. it ticks alot when idling, but it could be the cold weather all the time. but it seems to be a fairly reliable motor... i've already put 60xxxkm on the new motor.

my only problem with the car at the moment is the tranny
it ran out of tranny fluid 3 times (leaking axle seals, easy and cheap fix)
now the bearings in the tranny give a growling noise when i let off the gas. (at least i assume it's the bearings)

well. thanks guys. i'm also a member of aleromod.com

You should be definitely be able to do 160 with that set up. Since I believe 160 has been done with nothing but a tune.

Have a good time here and remember that we have a search function. Hahaha
