hey anyone know if a 95LO QUAD ENGINE WORK ON A 99 Z24 CAVALIER BODY WITHOUT ANY MODS, ANYONE KNOW IF THE 99 COMPUTER COULD RUN IT??? MY 99 GOT OVERHEATED BY THE WIFE AND I HAVE A .SPAR 95 LO QUAD ENGINE IN THE GARAGE WITH NO USE FOR IT RIGHT NOW... t\THANKS
No, won't work without some mods.
The only engine that will bolt in and work without any modifications is the 99-02 2.4L. With a little work, the 96-98 2.4L will work as well. The Quad 4 is a OBD 1 engine.. much harder to make it work as there are sensors you'll need that aren't even there.
im trying to find out which cause they all look alike to me, but not sure thts why i asked

but..you will probably have an engine light, since the quad didnt have egr and i believe the 99 did??
worked out great without any mods at all, i do have an engine light but dont care about that what im not sure what happened is my speedometer it wont work anymore anyone know if its because of the switch or did it go bad??
Glad you got it swapped no problem, I was going to suggest that you could sell/swap/trade somebody for a stock engine to replace but It should work out for you.. As for the speedo did you unhook the VSS wires while you swapped the engine? If they didn't get hooked back up then your speedo wouldnt be getting a reading..
didnt un hook it but which one would that be and were just to make sure???
I have no idea I just know that's what tells the computer how fast your going.
vss = vehicle speed sensor
your vss or speed sensor is on your tranny..mostly likely right on top of your Diff. case . should be the only sensor in that area

Id you use the older 89 thermostat housing? Have you tuned it to make sure your A/F ratio is correct?
