Okay, Let me start by saying "Hi I'm new" I'm 21 live in Kentucky. Okay that's out of the way. I have a 2004 Chevy Malibu classic with the 2.2 ecotec, auto 130k miles.
"okay... That's cool bro, What are you doing here on the J-body forums?"
Well I have been reading a lot of builds on here useing the ecotec motors and I am here for info and to pitch the idea of a "sleeper ecotec malibu"
here are some of my questions for anyone who cares
Do you think its worth the time and money of making it fast? it is about 3k lbs, about 500lbs more than a Cavalier or cobalt
where would you do if it was yours? / where should i start?
pros and cons of turbo over a sc?
does anyone know if coilovers off a cav. or something would work?
does any one know of someone with a tuner around northern Kentucky, Cincinnati Ohio?
Do you know of a better forum with better info on ecotecs?
GOALS
No major motor (crank, rods, pistons) mods
Turbo or super charger
make a fun dd that is safe and reliable, that i could take to the track every now and then
I dont want to sound like that stupid kid that knows nothing about cars and wants to sup up his moms car, I bought this car bc it was cheap and i thought i could fix it up and make a dollar , but when i started reading about ecotecs being a good tuner I thought hey this could be fun
STUFF i have done to it
i tune up and a brake job, and cleaned it up a lil,
looking forward to hearing form you guys (good or bad)
THANKS!!
NOT A J BODY DONT CARE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Start up a thread in the other cars forum man. Lots of us post there. I think it could be pretty cool.
