All right guys, here's the deal. I am sponsoring 3 of the 4 fastest Ecotec J-Bodies around right now and they all want a piece of each other. The 4th guy is itching to get at the other 3. So what better way to settle the score than a nice winner take all match race.
So far the entrants for the NA Shootout are as follows:
1) PJ Lombard
2) Owen Stampflee
3) Ben Wenzel Jr.
4) Fred Simmons
I am leaving entry open to anyone else who wants to compete BUT YOU MUST POST HERE AND LET ME KNOW FIRST. We are also considering doing a Forced Induction Shootout as well, depending on interest. I will obviously be there, so anyone who wants a piece of me can come get it if the car is racing again.
Right now the date is set as June 24th. The race will be held at Great Lakes Dragaway in Union Grove, WI at one of their Import Wars events. I know almost everyone there so I can make sure we get some dedicated lanes so we can round robin everyone and find out who wins. The date will not change unless the 4 people above need it to since this is mostly for them to get a piece of each other. As you can see these guys are coming from across the country, and from another country even, just to settle this score, so if anyone gives me a line about it being too far I'll pimpslap them myself.
This race will be open to Js with ANY MOTOR that came in the JBodies from the factory. This means any 2.2L OHV, 2200, LD9, 2.3 and L61 powered J is eligible. Just be aware that if you don't bring your A game you'll be eaten alive. This will hopefully turn into a nice big local meet as well so it will be a great chance to watch some good racing from other cars and us, see a fairly good car show, and see a wicked sound off.

Well I want 5 cameras at least. I know there will be one good one for sure, www.HonDaddy.com, who does an amazing job for us already. I'm gonna be talking to some magazines and TV contacts that I have and see what kind of publicity we can get for this.

looks like I got a bit of work to do to make sure the car stays competitive with the racecars
there's a few other tentative events that I want to hit as well.. such as the ecotec only race in vegas and the LD9 vs L61 shootout that's supposedly going down in either Indy or Ohio
this is gonna be a fun year

you funding a 2200 mile trip? gas @ $2/gallon and a truck that gets 10mpg is gonna be around $1000 for gas alone...
I have a life and responsibilities beyond racing and I'd much rather use what spare time I do have to hitup some west coast nhra sport compact events.

Union Grove, WI is 3451 km (25 tanks round trip). Maybe Owen and I can rent a flat deck and split the gas.

The only reason I want to have it here is because I can get everything arranged easily at my local track since I know everyone that runs the event I race at.
Any other track and we'd probably have to pay extra to get some guaranteed runs and lanes.
