I know this is a dumb question, but is the '04 Sunfire in D Street prepared? I was looking on the SCCA website and saw this listed under D Street prepared, but nothing about the ecotec.
J Body V6, 4-cyl Turbo, Quad
4 (DOHC)
Heres the link to the website I got it from
http://www.scca.com/_FileLibrary/File/2007SoloRules.pdf
your link is to page 1 of 300+
where is the info your looking at?
The ecotec and 2.4l engine are DSP and the older 2.2l ohv is FSP.
If your registry is up to date, you don't belong in DSP. Just so you know...
I think if you're running the Tokicos mentioned in your registry then you will be STS. Suspension mods usually put you there with a pretty stock motor.
"If you aren't shifting, then you certainly aren't driving!"
Lowering will put you in STS, just shocks will let you stay in G-Stock.
A stock eco sunfire runs in G-Stock althogh I really think they should be moved into H-Stock like all the other similarly powered cars as G-Stock is a minefield right now with coopers and celicas.
A DSP sunfire would have shocks and springs or coilovers, rollbars, r-comp tires 225/50R15, 15x7 or 15x7.5 lightweight rims. Header Back exhaust (with stock cat
), an intake, motor mounts, and trans mounts. Kind of like my car will be next year if I don't go SM with a turbo.
Checking your mod list I think your more ready for STS. If you look at my car in my profile all my mods are STS legal, I don't have lowering springs listed because I'll be going with Tein Super Streets this year.

Whats the difference in DSP and STS
The biggest difference between DSP and STS is that you can run R compounds like Hoosiers
