I would say definately driver ability. I ran a 16.75 in my N/A 96 2.2 5 speed in limp in mode, before I got my 2.5" exhaust on.

agreed, and more than likely he missed a gear or spun down the track...

Driver error? I'd say utter driver incompetence lol... PJ ran 16.7's with what, an intake and an upper motor mount insert back when he still had an OHV?

Actually it sounds about right. Auto 2.4's run like crap at the track 16.4-16.7 stock is about right. 2.2 OHV usually run 18's stock.

kind of OT but

i saw a youtube video of a pretty fast mustang.. the guy got yelled at for running 10s and not having a proper cage he was threatened to be 'thrown out of the track for the rest of the season"

so the next pass the guy eased thru the beams on the green light to start his clock... waited about 3 or 4 seconds then took off....

14.6 @ 132mph lmao

kinda like a 14.5 at 108.92 in a Cavalier. Now i do have to admit that the 14.6 at 132 is a lot better.

out of curiosity, what would a 2.4 5spd (isuzu) run in the 1/4? i' never raced my car, but i'd be curious what to expect.

Assuming your profile is correct.... with some practice.... you should be able to pull a mid 15 out of it..... Although don't be surprised if you go to the strip for the first time and run a high 16 on your first pass.... it takes practice...

yuupprofile is correct that's a good baseline/goal for e to work towards for sure!

ultimately, my goal is 14.99 down the road, fingers crossed of course!
