Just curious what other people have found to work.
Last year was the first year with my Hoosier 225/50r16 drag radials. Last year I ran it around 6 times and my best launches were around 3000rpm.
This year is a new world. Over the winter my car recieved an M45 with the 2.7" pulley boys pulley and LSJ injectors.
I have ran once this year thusfar. Got 2 runs in before the event rained out.
The first run I launched at 2000 and it bascially bucked back and forth off the line.
The second I launched at 2500 and it hooked and bogged.
I am not going through the wet box. Just pulling beside it and squeaking the tires off twice each run before staging. The tires are gripping fine.
My fear is if I launch at the higher peak torque range (4400) that I will in deed snap an axle or blow up a cv joint.

I used to launch my eco at 5400rpm.
finesse the clutch, thats the key.
slip it fast but not enough to bog the engine. You want a little bit of tire squeal as you leave the line.
breaking parts goes with racing, but worry about it when and if they break
Racing at Bandimere? I love it there, great track. Gotta love racing at 5800 ft. Been there a few times this year and my best launches seem to be right around 45-4800 rpm. This was on street tires though.
5400 off the 2step. About 10psi before I'm even moving...good times.

you really should be heating those up. i've found that my nittos hook waaaayyyyy better with a long 2nd gear burnout. i launch at about 4000-4500.

All stock...........lol.
yea def forgot to mention that
do a lil burnout before pulling up to the line. don't burn the crap out of them tho just get a decent cloud comin up then stage.
DRs need to be heated up, but not as much as slicks do.
What kind of 60' times are you guys pulling lauching around 4400?
I wouldn't launch them that high I'd say 3500 at the most.
If they were bias ply tires that wrinkle wall, then, yeah take them to 5000... But radials I don't think it'll work that well.

when I had 195 70r14 reg tires on my front steelies, I would launch around 4000 and cut pretty consistent 2.1s and a few 2.0s
when I switched to radials and 15s up front, I got much more consistent 2.0s and after I added launch control (5400 rpm) I started dipping into 1.9s
