We race a 98-2002 chevy cavalier with the 8 valve motor, 2200 sfi motor (if I'm not mistaken). Our track tech officials have deemed our car illegal after it was discovered that the top of the pistons come flush with the block deck. They are providing us with paperwork that says the pistons should fall .024" below the block deck. I have been told by the previous owner that the motor came that way and is stock. I'm looking for proof one way or the other in hopes to dispute the tracks findings. Any help is much appreciated.
I'm sure the info they have is on the 2.2 like 1995-1997. Yours is the 2200, differnt pistons and head. Madjack or bob could tell you for sure and post some exact info for you to give Tech.
