To all auto-x'ers
Can't seem to find a brake pad for auto-x.....what pads are you using for this....
When I auto-x'ed an F car there were several pads for this.....
also a pad for track days.....
currently using PF street pads....these don't seem to give enough initial bite and sometimes at highway speeds it takes a second for them to warm up and bite..
thanks
I'm using Axxis ultimates. They take a little bit to warm up and grab, but are EXCELLENT pads IMO for autocrossing.
Same here, Im runnin the ultimates also...

I use the PF - Z rated pads.
If you truly want to improve braking, get SS lines too.

The stainless lines were a very nice addition too. PF-Z rated pads are good because you can take them back to autozone once they are wore out.
Well
Yesterday I went to auto-zone to buy some PF-Z pads.
The clerk said they were out of stock so I ask her to order them. When she tried to order them the computer would not let her. we then checked other locations and no stock. She could not find out if they could even be ordered..
Well I'll have to find them at another place.

yeah you have to have them order them! they don't stock them in the stores they have them in the warehouses
see ya!
The sales person could not even order them. She said that they were not in the warehouse.
I use William Performance friction S2 pads very good initial bite and they stand up pretty good I am still using them right now.

carbotech also makes pads that fit our cars too. Give em a call, and ask them. I was thinking about giving them a try

The Panther Plus or the XP8 look like great compounds for street/autox. I might try them out next depending on price

My stockers are like 205 mm.

I heard from several Miata drivers, Integra drivres, and Civic drivers that they love greenstuff pads. I was gonna get some this year.

I snatched them off an 04. I think they come standard on 04's and some 03's.
i was talking about the shoes
see ya!
Oh, the shoes. I got them from Pat. He had them custom lined for me
.
I use EBC Greenstuff on the EBC slotted/dimpled rotors on my 00 Z24
(Yes, I know that dimples are about worthless, but they do look nice w/o the annoying weaknesses inherent in x-drilled
)
My comparison:
Stock setup:
me: Hey car, let's stop, right now please.
car: Maybe, let me think about it
me: Um...what about that (tree, truck, other large relatively immovable object)
car: That might help us stop quicker, yeah.
(no, this didn't actually happen, but almost did a couple of times.)
Current setup: (ebc rotors+greenstuff)
me: Hey car, let's stop, right now please.
car: Ok.
me: HOLY $41t!
car: We are stopped.
me: No kidding.
Basically:
