go out and buy a rubber malet... and that great ass tool called "the ding king"
it really works....
but
better than that just go buy a rubber malet and then bang it out as much as you can..
then take it to creditable body shaop and have then touch up the rest...
good luck
OEM CAMBER/CASTER KIT 10 People for $210 <P>
GOT ECOTEC?
the ding king isn't gonna do jack on that... your best bet would be to have a shop take care of it. i know you said you can't afford it, so you might just have to drive around with a busted up quarter panel for a while.
if you have collision insurance, put it through that....the rate is already going to go up so you may as well get it fixed

lol well where do u think all the people who learned body work learn it.. i gotta try it sometime. places want a grip just to fix the quarter like 1200.00 its not THAT bad... it would look alot better iwth a new bumper
It;s totaled, not worth even fixing.. Since you was selling it anyways I guess its not that bad.. Email me your address and I'll be there to take it off your hands..
Really tho, you gotta learn sometimes how to do bodywork. Hit me up on AIM if you have any questions, or If you need a new rear bumper..

well i guess i wont learn. cheapest i could find a bumper for is 120.00 so if anyone knows cheaper feel free.. also i found a guy to do it under the table at a dealership bodyshop to do it for 300.00 so like 420.00 in total repairs not bad i dont think i dunno ill watch him do it n he can help me learn so i dont have to do it entriely on my own
ummm ya a rubber malet won`t even touch that metal , it`s too damaged to repair with a malet
i learned from doin the work on my own and with the help and guidance from someone else
i would let the body man do his job and sit back and watch for now
can i haz bondo

most learn how to do body work in school. some learn by sitting in with a body shop person and watching them.
wow when you do something you go all out huh? lmfao hahahah You can go behind the rear quarter panel w/ some flat headed hammers.. and pound out the wave/dents as much as possible to keep the origional shape. There will still be some left you wont be able to get out. But get out as much as you can! then what body shops use is some other equiptment to pull out dents creases but mostly you pound them out from the inside. then they use bondo (MINIMAL AMOUNTS... DONT JUST FILL IT WITH BONDO) to get a smooth surface again. As for the fiberglass work, if you know how to do it it's cake.. that bumpers better looking tham my Street fighter when a B*tch in a bronco backed into me, killed my rear bumper, and I fixed it. Body shops wouldnt do it, they wanted to buy a new bumper. I said Pffft.. If you want I can dig up the old pics.. if I still have them online somewhere. lol But it's totally fixable!
it's just the primer/paint that you'll need to go elsewhere for. Now remember if they spot paint that area there's a VERY High & good chance that the colors will be different.. they might want to paint the whole quarter panel & rear bumper.

well i took it to some guy.. 150.00 for body work under the table.. i know another guy who works for a dealership doung painting.. bumpers ect mostly touchups.. im getting a new bumper for 120.00 but the painter said he'l do it for free and clear coat a big part of the quarter and were gonna repaint the bumper too yes.. and blend it all as best ghe assured me it would be very very close.. but we'll so so total repairs is like 270.00 with a new bumper
im pretty happy i just found out about the paint guy will hook it up this morning body guy cant start until next saturday then paint it the thursday after. While the body guy is doing that i think imma have someother stuff done minor stuff but i wil be right there watching and trying to learn
ill elt u all know how it goes and pictures of it fixed. Besides the back bumper was already @!#$ held on with screws u could see n @!#$ the body shop did a very bad job im glad im gettin a new one . pix would be great dude thanx for the responses
i had another question for you guys. Since the guy is painting the new bumper while its on the car and there obviously gonna have to bondo anyway do u think i should mold the bumper lines and the little piece on the quarterpanel? i dont think it would be too hard to fill in the lines with some bondo/fiberglass or would it look dumb with just the back molded?.. i just want some opinions i thougth wut the hell its basically free so ya. im not worried about it cracking the car is for sale.. so whatever there i should sell it b4 anything happends with cracks and vibrations but let me know
!
anyone on the molding of the back bumper? lol
Just a guess, having done bodywork for the last 7 years.. This guy that offered to do it for FREE doesnt want to do it for free.. Just because you know this guy doesnt mean he should have to pay for your mistakes just for knowing him. So it is a VERY nice gesture and trust me I am positive he is tired of doing work for free. Why dont you not think about whatelse you can do to the car, but suprise him for a job well done and being so nice in the end with a paycheck. I am sorry I love your car but really.. I hate when people think like that, (which EVERYONE does) Really tho, it was your mistake I say u should pay for it..

ya but at the same time.. body shops charge me like 1200+ and the body guy said 150.00 and it will take him 2 hours.. i think 75/hr is perfectly fair both ways.. the paint guy not like i just met some guy and hes doing it for free..lol i am gonna pay him either way im not that messed up if i always got @!#$ doen for free i would never be careful.. im having him paint the car that i hit too. so i have to give him something. we do things for each other. Anyway do u think i should run some fiberglass resis in the cracks of the body kit and the tail light piece on the back since im doing this work anyway? or would it look weird if just the back was moulded.. Im leaning towards doing it but no one gives me any suggestions.
Well i got a guy to hook it up for 400.00 fix and paint the quarter paint my deck lid.. paint the right side skirt and fiberglass the front bumper and repaint it all and paint the whole back bumper.. here are some progress pix looks like hes doing decent so far ill keep posting more
