Jeep Grand Cherokee Loredo (3.0 Diesel)

Well... I am seriously thinking about purchasing one of these.. Chrysler is about to have its huge employee pricing sale up here, 0 % for 84months and such, and with cash bonus incentives back. (I could be looking to upwards of 10,500 cash back, with 0 %..... MSRP on them up here is 39,995... The dealership I do a lot of graphic design work for said depending on my trade in that they would get it to between 18,995 and 22,995....

-To boot the diesel can tow up to 7500
-4 Wheel disc
-From all the reviews They said they were able to get this thing to do 35mpg and 33mpg on the highway ! WOW.
-Decent interior (not your typical Chrysler garbage)
-Lifetime Warranty (Does Chrysler still offer that ?)

I really need a vehicle with some decent fuel economy, Diesel up here is much better priced then it is in the U.S........ Towing is a biggie as well (Gotta get that J places when it brakes :p.)

SO my question to all here in the community.. What are your opinions on this thing ? I am ONLY considering it due to the price, and the appeal it has to me, other contenders in its class seem to be way over priced.

-I am currently driving a Diesel Golf. So I am not new to the Diesel scene.

*Note the company I work with does all the Chrysler Canada direct mail marketing material, this is how I know of the coming sale .

I heard these were slow as all mighty hell but aside from that i think the price you mentioned is great and that you should go for it if you like it

225hp, 400lbs torque.

Not bad, but nothing spectacular there lol. Reviews mention excellent low end acceleration.

Just a thought but how would you go about getting parts for these if Chrysler goes under? I read it was the same technology as mercedes uses so you could probably get parts from them!

I think any of these diesels were excluded from the lifetime warranty, I remember reading that in the disclaimer a while back.

I would love to trade in our 05 Jeep Grand Cher. Laredo for one of these!! We don't do much towing so it really wouldn't make sense to get one though.

Who cares if it is slow.....it's a frickin SUV not a sports car! Im sure he would pick up an SRT8 if he wanted a fast SUV.

I'm a Jeep fan so I say go for it.....try to get closer to $18k if you can.

The only way I'd own an SUV is if it were a diesel... Sadly though, people in this country are too dumb to realize that 32 mpg at $3.50 will still save you an assload of money over 22 mpg at $2.50 a gallon.
