Picked up a C55 a couple of months ago. This car
really is amazing, in every way, shape, and form. I plan on keeping it mostly stock, since stock is beautiful. Also planning on keeping the cavy, although lately I've been searching for an 00-02 Z manual (pref. black), swap the mods, and selling this cavy (since its auto, and wanted to try a manual for a while now).
I started parting out the cavy (clear corners, suspension stuff, oem hid set), but I honestly CAN'T STAND the stock suspension anymore. It just feels so so bad, and with the stiff AMG suspension (and my previous koni/goldline setup on the cavy), I just can't take it anymore. Going to see if I can find a used set of prokits with AGX's or HP Blues, to not make it too low, not make it too harsh, not too expensive, but feel so much better.

My boss has a C55 AMG. Stupid fun car to drive.
The only thing I disliked was the lag time between stomping on it and being thrown back in my seat lol.

Sorry for double posting, I Meant the lag time because of "drive by wire".. IDK if those cars are, but his sure felt like it.

Yes, they are dbw. Some people have said the same thing, and I sort of agree. There are little electronic boxes to fix it though; and also if you start out in comfort mode, you start in 2nd gear and there's definitely a much bigger power lag there. But then again, I'm not a floor-it-from-a-light kind of person - I ease into it at first and once you start to climb you give it gas and feel your neck muscles not able to compensate.
