I've come up with a little list of possible vehicles. Car needs to be under or around 25K(I have a trade in and cash that should add up to around 8-9K, looking for car payments 300-350/mth). Needs to be able to seat 5, and needs to be something i can keep comfortably awhile. Prefer something newer than 2005 with less than 50K miles on it.
Current possibilities include: I want something fast, moddable, with a nice interior.
2010 Mazdaspeed 3
2009+ WRX
2006-08 STi
I haven't driven too many cars and I've been sorta outta the loop for awhile..so I don't really know what's out there. A dodge dealer is going to try to get me into a Challenger R/T..don't know how but he said it's possible..I don't care, it's a free test drive.
Any other vehicles you would recommend I test drive or look into? I've called multiple dealerships in my area and have been called back with anything from a Aveo, Scion XA, to a C300...gets really frustrating because they call every day.
I was originally looking into a project car..but after driving to san antonio and test driving many possibles, I think my money would be spent better buying rather than building..time was a huge deciding factor here.
id go with an 07 Sti Limited if you can find one. Quite reliable, sporty, and modable.

Honestly, as much of a Subaru fan as I am, the WRX & STi have really basic, boring interiors. They are the only interior I do not like of any Subaru out there. Look up a few pics online & you'll see what I mean. The bucks on them go to performance for sure. I'd still buy one for a 2nd car, or if I was on a tighter budget than you, but for the money you can do better. The WRX you listed (2009+, under 60k miles for my search, under $25k) may be difficult to find too. I did a 500 mile radius search from my zip code & only found 20. The exact same search for the STi turned up 5. If you truly do want one of those, good luck finding one near you!
That said, may I suggest a Legacy GT? You'll still get the turbo engine & a WAY nicer interior! The Legacy is leaps & bounds way more creature comfort friendly from the Impreza. My favorite design is the 2005-2007 style, it's different for 2008-2009 & different again in 2010. There are tons of them out there - to give you an idea, I did the same search as with the WRX & STi from above, but with the years 2005+ & found 55 in my search. There's one 2 hours from me that I've kept my eye on actually...wish I was the one buying!
Can't say much for the Mazdaspeed, don't know it that well. A friend of mine had a Protege wagon from one of the last years it was made & I was not a fan for sure. The feel & textures inside, as well as the sound when the door closed didn't exactly scream quality at all. Maybe they changed that when it switched to the 3? People seem to like them, they can't be all that bad. True story though, this friend of mine sold her Protege wagon & got an Outback after riding in mine & she couldn't be happier
If that doesn't float your boat, you can do a lot of narrowing down using the "Find Cars For Sale" section over at
AutoTrader.com. You can narrow it down to price range, max. mileage, distance radius... tons of ways. Just don't pick a make & model & see what it gives you!

The Dealer might be able to get you a Challenger RT, alot of Chrysler dealers are hurting for business so you might be able to get a good deal.
If I could get into a Challenger I think I would. I love the way they look but I'm concerned for Dodge quality......Anyone have any input on quality? Seriously <3 the way they look and they're supposed to be very quick.
Do those v6 cars actually put out pretty decent numbers? I'm more go than show..
The Legacy GT sounds like a good idea. That's something I will look into.
Trailblazer SS.
Impala SS

Both the 2010 Camaro and the 2011 Mustang v6's have over 300hp and come with either 6 spd man or auto trans. The Challenger v6 is quite weak compared with those two. I think Chrysler/Dodge's main quality/reliability issues are with their front wheel drive vehicles, their v8 engines have been quite reliable for years.

Used G35 sedan? Wouldn't have to be very old to get the price you want. A year or two on a G35 or G37 and it would be right where you want to be (in that $25k mark). Nice cars with a great engine. If I were moving up to something bigger tomorrow, it would be either a used G35/G37 or a new Lexus IS 250.

Basically the exact post i was going to make. G35/g37 sedan, or a GS series or newer IS series Lexus.
