ok check it .. my girl has a 1999 chevy malibu with the 2.4 twin cam motor in it . It has been going through alot of oil lately the car only has 80k on it . so i changed her spark plugs yesterday and when i took off the coil pack cover i noticed alot of oil pooling undereath it it had 2 of the 4 spark plug holes filled with oil . i noticed it was comming from the gasket on the bottom closest to the spark plug holes my questions are...... is it hard to replace the valve cover gaskets ? and then the gasket under ( i think its called the cylinder head) where it bolts to the block if any one knows please let me know its leaking from there pretty bad and i want to fix it asap just wondering if i should do it myself or just take it in thanks

Its kind of a pain in the ass because the cam covers are bolted on THROUGH the timing housing...
Meaning, you have to remove the left upper motor mount, belt & crank pulley, timing chain cover, timing chain, & a cam gear for each cam cover you want to remove.
Its not too difficult, but can be a tedious task because you have to set the timing... Plus, you gotta raise & lower the motor to get to all the bolts on the timing cover...
I know you said the leak is coming from the gasket, but make sure you check out the oil pressure sensor first. Thats the thing sticking out of the front cam housing. Kinda points toward the brake booster. Its near the connector for the IDI cover ( says 2.4 twin cam on it)...
My buddy was getting ready to buy a new motor because he was pissing oil, but it ended up just being a broken, leaky oil pressure sensor.
