Cool, I was working on a Delta Body last night, my buddy has a 2010 SS/TC.

Tranny popped at 5000mi, swapped it in favor of a GM Race Tranny from their Koni Challange (Grand-am Series) Cobalt race cars.

4.445 Final Drive goodness

Sweet car man for sure, I also love those wheels, Centerline Forged....mmmmmm.

Thanks guys. Yeah when the tranny goes, its getting the stage 2 GM clutch and the LSD MU3 tranny. But for now, it runs good and gets 23-25mpg city so I'll leave it be for now.

Ya the trannys are apparently kinda weak (Thats that happens when GM trys to make their own stuff...lol)...my buddies is heavily HP Tuned tho, he ended up stripping 3rd gear by No Lift Shifting from 2nd to 3rd.

Also, not sure if your aware of this, but the GM Stage 2 clutch upgrade for the LSJ is just a stock SS/TC LNF clutch.

Yep, I knew that about the clutch. For the tranny, I am very pleased with mine, its a pretty strong tranny as long as your not power shifting. I mean if your beating on your car that hard somethings gotta give thats just a fact.

Ya true, the NLS feature is stock tho on a SS/TC so I wouldn't technically consider that "beating on it" but yes something has to give considering the amount of torque those TC's can make with just some tuning. Then again people put much more power through F23 Getrag's and they hold up fine.

Also, I forgot to add, I believe a MU3 is the SS/TC trans, which means it would have a 3.82FDR. I believe your trans should have the 4.05FDR, if you do plan on swapping to that trans some day you probably want to consider swapping the final drives also.

Like I said, car looks great...keep us updated!

Now I know whom to get a new rear tie-bar from if necessary in the future!

I know....I am jealous....its gonna make his car scream now. Went from 3.82FDR to 4.445FDR, thats a huge jump.

He got the trans for a good deal, and apparently they are ultra rare since the guy he bought it off was the guy that built/raced the cobalts for GM, and he only made them for his race cars.
