New Car...
Sunday, January 23, 2011 12:59 PM
Well My water pump just went out for the second time in 15k miles (just a month or two after the warranty ran out), and the steering rack need's to be replaced, I was quoted just shy of $1000 to repair it all so I gotta get rid of the cavy.
Monday Im going to pick up my new 2001 Mustang gt!

4:11 Gears, Long tube headers with chamber box, aftermarket springs, short throw shifter, SCT tuner, tinted windows, 18in Cobra 5 spoke wheels, Sony head unit, cold air intake,

I'll post better pick's after i pick it up but it goes without saying, it's a huge upgrade!

The boards I'm on are all canadian, but you can hit them up if you want. www.cmoc.ca is the one that I frequent.

modularfords.com is a good one I used to be real active on. What are your mod plans?

Right away I probably wont be doing any mods since it will be my Daily Driver but in the future I might Go with cams, and p&p I will probably stay NA

Just a heads up, check my profile for info on my old car... but getting power NA out of a 2v is an expensive venture.

UPDATE:
Picked it up today, the paint is pretty ruff so that will be the first priority, IDK if it's just my car but I'm not sure I like the 4:10's There is basically like no 1st gear. Overall a little disappointed, I thought the 4:10's were supposed to be faster off the line but it feels like all the power start's in 2nd or 3rd. But it's probably just a learning curve, overall still a good buy, and nicer then the cav.

How big of a job is it to go back down to 3:73? I guess what I'm experiencing with the gearing is normal then?

Mileage isn't that huge of a difference, a lot less than you would think.

As for how hard, I highly suggest taking it to a mechanic who knows and is confident in setting gears. If you do it wrong, they will whine forever. It's not worth risking it to do myself, IMO. My car had 4.10's and I loved em. But everyone is different. I recommend going to AmericanMuscle.com when you want to buy parts for your car like gears. They have good prices and are highly supportive of the Mustang community.

I mean they arent horrible, expecially the Saleens and GTs, but they def. looked better in the early 2000s. Once again in my personal Opinion.
