My dad and I finally decided to finish building our 1976 Jeep Cj7 this season. I'm pretty pumped, so I thought I'd share it with the ORG. If enough of you are interested, I could turn it into a build thread. Anyway it will be running a 258 rebuilt inline 6 with an aftermarket cam (not sure of the specs) with the quadratrac full time 4 wheel drive and automatic trans.
When he put the project away over 8 years ago, he'd collected a substantial amount of parts, but only managed to get the power train together.
After we lifted the tarp and dusted off the old boxes of parts, we got a list together of what we need to crank the engine again. Low and behold on craigslist we ran into a local jeep guy who was literally selling an entire Cj7 on a shelf. It was basically everything minus the frame and tub, which we had already anyway.
So just 450$ later, we've got two of everything, including another 258 I6 in great shape. The one we bought however came with the 5 speed, which we've decided to sell along with many of the other parts we already had. Other misc parts we acquired through the deal include an over bored offenhauser intake manifold, aftermarket headers, a 4 barrel edelbrock carb, and some metal in great shape.
Anyway here are a few pics of what the lodge looks like where were building it =P
Anybody else play with these? We plan to drive it on the road as a clean historical street car. No rockcrawling for this ol thing.

Just wanted top update anyone who cares, ill be updating through the blog only, as it'd be a pain in the butt to repeat everything here.
There is a "follow" option, if your interested in being kept up to date. I usually post about once a week.
