Question about HPT, '97 LD9, and the GM S/C

I've spent the last day or two reading just about EVERYTHING in here about the differences between the <99 and 2000+ LD9 computer systems. My question is... I plan on installing the GM S/C kit for the 2k+ onto my 97. Now I know what it takes to do the swap, but I'm still confused about the 2 bar map sensor issue, and the HPT not being able to support the pre-2000 ECM since I can not get the GM re-flash into my 97..

Am I going about this wrong, did I miss something?

Help me out please. I can tune 5.0 ODB1 stangs all day long, but this Gm stuff is new to me.
Also, I do know my way around a Alpha-N/Map based system... I'm running a MS2 V3.0 in my 94 cobra with a 347CI stroker.

Any info would be appreciated!

HPT works on the pre-2k's, it just won't put the S/C flash onto a pre-2k ECU. The (some) 97's use speed density which allows you to do an effective 2 bar "fake" tune.

Actually, you can put the supercharger reflash on the 99 pcm. There are issues with the gauge cluster and knock sensor if you do this.
