I stopped at Barnes and Nobles tonight to pick up some reading on Engine management and tuning.
I snagged...
Opposed to...
This second book to me just looked like it spent a lot of time on nonsense stuff like what sensors do, and the back 30 pages were just project vehicles.
The first book had a few pages that was directed towards HPtuners, and this other one didn't.
Anything else like maybe some dvd's I could look into?
I have the first book as well that I have been reading. It has a lot of how sensor's work as well, but that is not a bad thing either.
FU Tuning
i read that first book at summits headquarters one day when i was waiting for my buddy to get some things. its not very helpful on teaching you how to tune..

So i read the first one and returned it to Barnes and nobles.
A little helpful, but I still don't feel ready.
the best way to learn is hands on. I have the second book, it helped with learning basic concepts....etc, more indepth than you are giving it credit for, but not all that spectacular either.
I have yet to find a book that deals with alpha n tuning.
I would also recomend you pick up some classics, like Maximum Boost, things like that.
If you are looking for a book dealing specifically with HPT and how to use it, there are several companies on HPT's site that offer books and classes. But they are about as expensive as the tuner itself......
The HPT Tuning School
I think it would be VERY cool to have that at a bash or something one year
I plan to do that at home kit at some point very soon, I want to perfect my knowledge of HPT more

^^^thats what I was talking about.....
They sell a reference manual, or classes.
plus you get a discount on HPT credits if you buy the tuner through them, or if you get the book through them (I think)
I would agree it would be a good purchase if many people pitched in, or to have the class held at the bash, but I asked them about what they go over in the classes, and it sounds like nothing specialised at all.
im currently reading the first one and like it so far, some knowledge is better than no knowledge and i think thats worth putting money into. As far as the tuning school goes, i think i might just go with the take home version with HPT software because the actual class is super expensive!
