Map sensor issues

Weird Problem...

The car is a 2003 Cavalier with the GMPP supercharger kit. It has a 2.5 bar tune using the Gm reflash, which HPT doesn't support. To get around this, I am using the stock 1 bar map sensor in its place and I've revered back to a stock ecm. The car starts up fine, but the map value doesn't change. It reads 25 kPa no matter what the rpm.

I tried doing this a couple week ago and I had a super super low map reading, so I switched two of the wires because a buddy recommended it. Back then, I had a consistent low map value and the car wouldn't even idle.

Do I have a bad map sensor?

I guess I should mention I switched the lime green and puke colored wires. The orange wire is the same.

Okay. Measuring between the 5v source (grey wire) and the Low Reference (black and orange wire) gives me 5.02 volts.

Between the 5v source (grey wire) and the signal wire (bright green) is 4.77 volts. That makes sense because my kPa reading is 19.

But it still doesn't change when I start the car. I connected my friend's map sensor to my car earlier and it still read 19 kPa. Keep in mind, I did this BEFORE reading the voltages. I THINK that I MAY have not had the wires completely connected with the friend's map sensor connected. But I seriously doubt it.

What else could it be. I used a working map sensor for no success. I have the proper voltages in my harness. What's next?

So you have a stock map sensor (1 bar map) on the car right now?

So you changed the cars wiring when you had a MAP sensor reading bad? Thats like changing the wiring in your house when the TV doesn't work...

Change the wiring back to what it was from the factory, then make sure that you have the sensor plugged into a port that see's vaccuum (you can put a vacuum gauge on the port you are using to see if it even shows vacuum). I'm guessing that you are using one of the ports that doesn't.

On the car is the 1 bar sensor.

The wires are factory. They have been for a few days.

The sensor is connected to my fpr line.

I don't think the FPR line with the S/C see's vaccuum, I'd verify it with a vac gauge.

^ I had my boost gauge connected to the fpr line on my older car. There is both vacuum and boost shown in the fpr line.
