Hey, I got a 03 black cav LS, and I'm about to shave the door moldings and probably the gold bowtie. I'd really appreciate pics of identical cars with that done, so I don,t regret it 10 minutes later when it's too late
Thank you!
Oh and I did use search, but nothing came up. Not saying this haven't been posted before, but I can't get any results out. Anyways, posting is what keeps a forum alive, not SEARCHING!
What bowtie are u talking about? The one infront or in the rear?

Hey I am moving to pa and was wondeing if the kit would with stand snow. cause my car is my daily driver.
Hey 2o3cavi: Do you prefer without the moldings? Does it make the swirls marks inevitable with a black car, appear more since there is no molding to "cut" the door in 2 ?
And lastly, have you got more door dings since you removed it? Thanks

The first week i bought the car i took off the moldings
and trust you'll be so happy u did it, i find it looks much smoother and cleaner. And the swirls u just cant get away from them on a black car hehe sorry, thats why i use the 3 step mothers waxing or u can u use meguirers. I heard all good things from both companies.

Surprisingly no i dont have any dings but i know one day i will hehe and also i do park further away from most vehicules unless its really cold
Good luck with everything
- Tip on how to do it -
1- make sure its warm out or u can use a heat gun but i would be EXTREMELY CAREFUL because im pretty sure it will screw up the paint - so warm day much better or maybe even a hair dryer instead of heat gun.
2- use fishing line and some gloves so u can wrap it around the glove for better pulling or should i say, up and down kinda like flausing (flossing) or how ever u spell that word.
3- make sure u have goo gone or something similar to take off the extra glue on car, then wash car, then wax.
4- That's it your done

Just be cautious on how much you lower it if you plan to...But if you're stock, just avoid deep pot holes and you'll be alright...Mine is Bomex and a daily driver
...plus i am lowered on coilovers....and factory struts...

Gbro: shave the moldings it will look much cleaner.
James C: The Ls kit and the bomex front are exactly the same distance from the ground to the bottom of the bumper, i measured before i installed mine. I live in Pa and i drive my cav year round lowered on sportlines with my kit, If you plan to lower it get a urethane kit. Also if you interested in the Ls kit i have a ls sport rear bumper for sale for $140 its victory red.
