After the help you of guys pointing out that 00-02 cavy taillights dont have a seperate sidemarker bulb on them (like the 03+ do), i got to thinking.
-If i do a trunklid and taillight swap with someone that has a 02, theyll have the newer taillights, but wont be able to plug in the sidemarker on each taillight so that would make it illegal right? Or is there a way to wire in the 194 bulb to the 02 stock wiring?

side marker? Good question ^. My cav is a 97 and I don't have a side marker, that's odd. I only have one bulb on each tail light. do the 03+ have an extra bulb or something? cuz I have the 03 tails and they have an extra little socket. anyone know the mystery to this?
the 95-02 tail lights are DOT legal , they have the reflector and the main bulb lights the whole lens so it can be seen from the side
and if i remember correctly , the socket for the main bulb has the wires that run to the little side bulb in the 03 up lights
i did a swap for a friend , and everything from his 03 went into a guys 00 and everything worked properly

Yes, i know that my (converted) taillights would be fine, but what about the person that has the 03 taillights on the 00? The 03's have a socket for the extra sidemarker bulb whereas the wiring for the 00-02 models dont have the sidemarker bulb/wires for it.
When you did that coversion though, there was no sidemarker bulb to put in the taillights then since it was a 00, right?
