Pearl Black? Flaked Black?
Wednesday, April 20, 2005 10:47 AM
Hey all, I was thinking of getting my car repainted (it needs it badly). As it is currently black, if I keep it black I can save some money on not spending a whole lot of time doing the underside of the hood, engine bay, trunk etc, as since its all black it should blend well.
(It will blend well, right?)
So, I guess my question is what can I do with black to make it stand out more? I've always liked a black car, but my only beef is that at night or if its very bright outside the shadows match the color of the car and hide the lines of the car and kit, etc. I was hoping to maybe put some pearl or flake into the color, altough I dont not know how well this would turn out. Maybe some sort of pinstripe or design or graphic?
Any suggestions/experience/pics would be greatly appreciated.

well at night peral wont do anything unless your around light. you can only see peral in light and sometimes its still hard to see. im sure the flakes are the same way but i would assume that the flakes would be a little easier to noticed and you might be able to see them at night, depending on how dark it is.

I'm shooting my car (the black parts) with HOK midnight black and then shooting them with a light coat of shimmerin silver mixed in with the clear coat... looks black in some light and black with silver sparkles in other lights... but as far as night goes... your screwed!

if you do a silver flake, dont add too much or the car will look grey during the day.

This is my Sig.... its wonderful isn't it...
