If your paint isn't really that bad I don't think there is a need to wet-sand, just maybe a good wax. But when my friend and I wet sanded his car, we just grabed a couple sanding blocks and sand paper ranging from 1000 grit to 2000 grit. We started with 1000 and worked our way up. Good luck, it's tedious.

Theres no need to wetsand a factory paintjob, but from your sig, atleast some parts of your car have been repainted. The only thing you use wetsanding for is to remove dirt nicks and imperfections in the paint such as orange peel. If your parts were wetsanded and buffed after being painted, then there is no need to wetsand it again.
To get that shine back that your talking about, you just need a high speed buffer, some cutting compound on the wool pad, and then follow that with some polishing compound on the styrofoam pad. When using a high speed buffer, dont move too fast or it wont do anything, but dont move too slow or it could burn your paint(you have to be going extremely slow for this to happen)

But, you dont even have to do that if you just want it to shine, just put a good wax on it and it will look almost brand new. Just dont wetsand it unless you have a high speed buffer or you wont be able to get the sanding scratches out. As for what grit to use, i would use 1500 on a block using soapy water.

wet sandin gis usually done before liek one day after the paint has set, sanding it now would be like sanding concrete, not impossible but damn tedious...
