I've read the how to, and understand what needs to be done. My question is, I've got an '02 Z24 in Indigo Blue, and was wondering if anyone knows what the paint will look like underneath the badges? Am I gonna have bowtie shadows on the hood and trunk? I like the shaved look, but don't want 5 o'clock shadow on my hood.
Gotta keep on livin', L-I-V-I-N
i took mine off about 2 years ago on my 98 and didnt have any discoloring
took mine off a couple months ago on my 2001 and no probs with the paint.
i have a black 4dr and i took mine off and it looked fine except it was cleaner in that spot than the rest of the car and it needed a good wax job..
took off my "sunfire" badges from my doors last week...black car...looks alot better with them, paint is fine
i took em off my 95 pink ....dont ask .....cavalier and it was fine...other then the glue....but just get some goo gone and its all good
Ya, I shaved mine a couple of weeks ago on my black '02 sunfire and there was no way that anybody could even tell they were ever there. Just peel it up, then soak the glue with goo gone or armor all or something. A buffer makes it a lot easier too. But ya, go for it, unless your entire car is faded from like sitting directly on the sun your good.
i have a 2002 indigo blue cav and i shaved it and under the emblems the paint was fine in the back. Altho in some lighting the bowtie on the hood you can kind of see the shadow of wear it was because it was untouched by sun, altho being a month later i havent noticed it recently maybe it faded with the rest of the paint, same with the side moldings, those had no paint discoleration when i shaved those 6 months ago.
I simply used some sticker remover that I purchased from AutoZone and pried my emblems off with a butter knife. Then after removing all of the residue, I gently washed the areas with a little soapy water and waxed the spots afterwards. I can't even tell that they were ever there.......and my Cav is a 99 and this was done just 2 weeks ago.
