Well the 00-02 lights are slightly different then the 03-05 series, right?

Lights look different yes but same procedure. There made by the same plastics and glued together by the same glue. So yes the same way you take apart 03+ lights work for the rest. All your doing is getting the glue to become soft enough to pry apart.

i assumed they were the same, but without ever dissassembling any other lights i didn't wanna tell the guy possibly wrong info

Well as long as I know its the same assembly now, I can clean out my mom's corner lights, since they are crazy style messed up, lol
