hey whats up guys i been made fun uv for having a hood scoop on the cavi so how do you remove it? and how to remove the emblems too? the scoop is using double sided tape but i added some glue or something that came with it . ilike to remove without recking my paint
thanks Nick
I say just ignore them.
Have you seen any mustangs lately? Nice looking nonfuctional hoodscoops they have.
But fishing line or tooth floss will take it off, start on a corner, and use a sawing motion to take it off.
Then get some goo gone, and strip any glue residue off. It doesnt hurt the paint. Then wash clean. Same goes for the emblems.

well ive always heard that you should heat it with a heat gun and then just pull the emblems off... its probably similar with the hood scoop. but what you should do if youve got one of those stick-on scoops is fiberglass it in. no one would be able to tell the difference then and you wouldnt have to sacrifice the looks that can come from the scoop.

Check out my build thread!
No need to heat it, just clean with WD40

have you personally used wd40? and i like the floss idea too i need to know before i do stupid thing to my cavi
man you guys r fast responding thanks
Nick
lol i dont think floss is strong enough. get some 40lb fishing line and go at it. no need for a heat gun, just do it durning the day when its hot out. once its off you can use whatever you want to get the glue off. i did it like a man and used my thumb (but when i ended up w/ a huge blister on my thumb) i suggest you do that if its a last option
when i took my badges off i took fishing line and then scrapped the rest of the double sided tape off with my thumb and then i cleaned it up with oops...

Yep, came off a lot easier, it also helped that I was waxing at the time, because WD40 will strip off your old wax and you'll have to redo it. No marks or anything tho...

^But it won't hurt your clear coat

definately fishing line, i kept busting 25lb fishing line doing my side moldings, and damn my thumb hurt for hours after i rubbed off all the glue, if i had it back i would have picked up one of those rubber wheels at a paint supplier, takes the glue off in seconds
Is there an actual name for the "rubber wheel"? I've been waiting to remove the side moldings because my tumbs couldn't take removing the little Sunfire insignias on the side.
try eraser wheel or somethin to that effect
hey its nick so far i got the emblems off by soaking themn with wd40 but the hood scoop doesnt look like it will come off easily i need some fishing line i guess that dlue that came with the kit is pretty strong
thanks.

Really makes you wonder... They will make fun of you for the hood scoop and emblems, but won't help you to remove them. I'd say f*ck em and leave it..
