Will the vert trunk hinges work on NON vert trunk lids of either cavy or 'fire?
If so, are they a direct bolt on, or does some fabrication needed?

i would imagine that they would work... after all, they are making a trunk lid open, the only difference being that it has to clear the convertable top parts. as far as if it's a direct bolt on or not, i have no idea.
i researched this awhile ago. its is supposedly direct bolt on to the car. its not 100% to the lid. but nothing major. but it doesnt save you all that much space. the onmly think they eliminate is the torsion bars. they still hang down as low or lower than stock hinges.

What all is required on the trunk, just new holes or what? I realize that they hang down far but I want the gas-strut and such insead of the goofy 'bars'.

I've got a couple of 'verts at home... I'll try and take some pics tonight. The trunk lid is the same... just there's a plate that slips into the lid (where the normal metal rods go) and the hinges bolt to that. I'll have to look at the car side of the hinge to see how it actually mounts though.. I've never looked specifically at that.

yah i need something differnt than those dalm torsion bars..i took min out to accomadate my subbox but now its a pain to open the trunk..info please!!!.phil
