I want to purchase new xenon lights for my 2003 Cav's headlights. I do not know what size/part number i need or which brand is the best to go with, although i have heard that Street Glows are supposed to be pretty good. Whatever I wind up getting will most likely be off of eBay, so any links to auctions would be greatly appreciated...
streetglow or sylvania silverstars are good.
slvania silverstars are a WASTE of 50 bucks. if you want decent looking headlights, buy/make projector headlamps, and get the HID kit from the group buy forum. or else you'll be dissapointed, i know i am with the 50 bucks i wasted on silverstars.

I hate silver stars. I had no noticable diffence from the stock light!
HID is a great alternative... If you want to spend $100+ on a set...
HID's are usually close to the $300 mark, if you want somethign cheaper silverstars is the way to go, I have them and love them

i cant believe you all paid so much for your silverstars!
i got mine for like $25 at walmart or sumthin, I loved em and still have em, but i've switched to my Nokya yellow bulbs, but silverstars are nice to have, def a noticable diff
if you want silverstars, you dont have to order them off ebay, just go to pep boys or some equivelant store and buy them...but HIDs are the way to go

gots silverstars and i love them, they give a good clean white light from the front of my car. HIDs some day are gonna be nice but, i hate them blue ricetastic bulbs, you cant see ish.
i got street glow bulbs and i think those are better than the silverstars i had, but there pretty similar.
Actually the best bulb you can get is not a brand its the size! I had euro dezin off ebay the best bulb I tried. the reason was not cause it was blue, or cause it was a hid imitation but cause of the length of the bulb. its like a half or 1/3 of an inch longer then the stock bulb. and the bulb itself high and low is rated at 80/100watts not 55/65 watts like "nasty04cav " quoted up top. that rateing is for the fog lights. The size is able to extend past the peice inside of our headlights and refract the light better. But look Personaly I was on a budget at the time saveing up for a year to get hids. Take a look at
KroniK his purple hue is hids that are way brighter. like haveing two spot lights on the road. lights up everything. another thing that I've noticed is that ebay has projectors headlamps out for the older cavs but I counting that they soon will release them for the 2k3-2k5 cavs too. and they are only 160-200 a pair . Who know, I haven't seen them on a car yet but they may be decent enought to get useing regular bulbs. You want something good. Wait a bit. I know it is tough but unless you realy don't care about that deer your about to hit or the child your going to run over 10 feet in front of you cause you couldn't see then go ahead to buy your silverstars or even the street glow which all they do is dip the glass in high temp paint!
Blah Blah Blah Royall Purple!

That purple in my sig pic is the cutoff line of the projectors. I have 4300K philips bulbs in there at the time of the pic. They light up the road a hell of a lot better than just throwing in a hid kit into the stock reflectors.
I don't think that 00+ cavys will ever have aftermarket projectors made. Companies promise us but never do it.
I had a pair of those eurodezigns bulbs both 6000K and 8000K. The silverstars lit the ground up more than both of those bulbs. If you like eurodezigns than go with them. IMO the eurodezigns are crap compared to silverstars.

I have the silvania silverstars in my blazer (sealed-beam headlights
). Light up bright as day, only sad thing is they bake any mud that gets on the lens... not that you have to worry about that with a cavi though
nasty04cav wrote:in our head lights there is a metal cup thing that the bulb slide into to deflect the light. Can we take that out?
Thats just gonna cause more glare if you take it out.

Good question, I was wondering about LED tails. In any case I had Xenons in my car. I guess you can say it was the first (and probably worst mod) I've ever done to my car. While the bluish white light was cool at night, sometimes for me, it was very hard to see, especially when the road is a little wet from rain. I paid $38.50 for my Silverstars and have to say in my opinion they are alot better than my Xenons (which I still have). The Silverstars have the near brightness of the late model Toyotas (Celica/Camry comes to mind) without the H.I.D. upgrade. If you're looking for good light output, I say go for the Silverstars...if you're going for looks, the Xenons are your best bet.
