Hi i just bought a 03 cavalier LS red and i was wondering if anyone has instructions on how to open up my headlight and get rid of the orange on the sides i believe it is called "cooking" i am kinda scared to do it and dont want to mess it up but dont wanna pay 200 for clear lights. if anyone can help it would be great information thanx

Clearing 03 Headlights
you will need:
2 flathead screwdrivers
7/32nd socket and rachet
oven preheated to 200 degrees farenheight
Sealant...Black preferably
rubber gloves
ok, first put the light in the oven, bake for 12 min at 200 degrees
remove, and pry the clear lens from the housing, its tough, but the black glue will separate, if its not working, try baking a little longer, the warmer the adhesive is, the easier it is to get through it
separate the black shroud from the clear lens, by prying the glue off, there is 4 tabs on each
unclip the orange reflector
remove the 2 bolts from the turn signal lens
install bolts back in turn signal housing,
clean all old sealant off of light assembly
paint shroud what color you want...or leave it black
clean all parts prior to reassembly
put it all back together, making sure to use sealant where there was before, coat the outside edges to ensure they dont leak.
reinstall on the car, and wash to make sure you dont have a leak

very easy...just remember...BAKE!!

does anyone know if this works on other headlights such as GTP headlights
it should, its the same concept. (if your talking about just opening the lights up)
