Ok so I cut the DRL wire and the DRLs are off but now my
low beam will not stay on. I thought that if you cut this wire the low beam will replace the DRLs.
ANY IDEA HOW TO GET LOW BEAM TO STAY ON WHEN I TRUN THE LIGHTS ON?????

cutting the DRLs disables them, but you have to manually switch on your lo-beams whenever you want to. the basis of the mod was to just that turn off the DRLs. if you ever had a car b4 the mid 90s when DRLs werent installed on them, you had to manually switch the lo-beams on at night to drive. Same principle here as will. help that helps. also theres already a thread on the DRLs made by john lenko,
http://www.j-body.org/forums/read.php?f=7&i=292951&t=288470#292951
and a reason as to why ppl do this mod
http://www.lightsout.org/disable.html
hhmmm...read all that but my low beam will not stay on. I dont have a switch for low-beam. I have to hold the handle half way to have them come on and when i let go it turns off.
Any ideas?

haha u cut the wrong dark blue...its the one next to it
there is a dark blue wire six spaces over from the one side, seven over from the other.
its the other dark blue one next to it...from what i see
Are you sure? My DRLs are off. I was told to cut the one next to it to the right (looking at the cluster) not the one that is below the purple one. (see wire cut diagram)
Here is another image abit closer. I cut pin 8 light blue wire. Can anyone confirm this?

you have to ground the wire you cut. connect 16 gauge wire to the half thats still connected to your bcm, and ground it to a screw under your steering wheel.
however.... i remember the drl mod being differnet on 95-99s then 00-02s. i thought cutting the wire on bcm was for 00-02s only... and that with the 95-99s you just had to pull a fuse and replace it with a relay. what you have done worked fine on my car, but i have a 2002. you have the older style lights.
u cut the right one...i couldnt see it before with the other pic.
try grounding it like stealth said. maybe it will fix your problem
95-99 is way easier ... you remove your DRL relay and make a jumper wire to go from topleft to bottom right..... very easy ...
Jay
Psst, Adam... that's the cluster connector he's got in the picture
there is no BCM to cut the wire on (in 95-99 cars).
It sounds like your headlight switch is actually shot. Do the highbeams work?

just prooves my point that 95-99s are different than 00-02s, lol. i cut the wire on my BCM and it worked fine. lol.
Pulling the relay and jumping the pins gives you a flashing DRL light on the cluster... which the "old method" of fixing was to open the cluster and put tape over it.
Cutting the dark blue wire to the cluster (on 95-99 cars) was the replacement method I figured out. Works on most cars. Since the DRL jumper wire trick requires you to open the dash up anyway.... why not just cut one wire instead of all the extra work, and make the car do the work for you
Anyway... yadda yadda yadda....
95-99 cut wire
00-05 cut wire and ground BCM side
no relay jumpering. (is that a word?)
I still stand by my opinion that his control stalk switch is bad, if the low beams won't stay on.
The High Beam works fine but the dam lowbeam does not stay on when i turn my light on. I'll try the ground thing tonight and see what happends.
I haven't dont this yet
http://www.bradiscool.com/9697disable.html and I dont think its necessary anymore since my DRLs are off line now.
How do i know my headlight switch is broken?

you dont need low beams anyways... just drive around with your brights on all the time. people will apreciate the fact that you're lighting up the road so much...
haahahaha...I can see it now... lol Right now I only have my stock 55wat each fog lamps on which is fine but i want my low beam on. safety ...

yeah if youre having to hold the switch back for the lows to stay on then
your switch is probably broken. I had the same thing to happen in mine.
So I grounded the wire going from the BCM and it did nothing. Same as before. So I am going to replace the switch...i wonder how much that is.

thats because you're not using the BCM since its an older cav. we established this earlier.
I did the "old skool" drl disable. Didn't mind takin apart the cluster cause it gave me an excuse to blank out the shift light as well.
