Ok you know the LPG doors on some Conversion J's?

Well im looking for either the actual door for a sunfire or a pic of its hinge mechanism, and how it clears the rear tail lights.

Im sure someone has a pic somewhere.

LPG, or Liquid Petroliem Gas.

GM has a part # for it, but my dealer has been unable to get the part.

The LPG door is the rear driver side filler plate just under the tail lights thats hinged, and behind it is the inlet for fuel like natural gas, methane, of propane.

I can't find the picture, but there's different sheet metal under the taillight you would have to weld in. Where you'd find that, I have no idea. It hasn't been available as a separate part from GM since (at least) 2001, when I tried to order that same door.

now that i know what the hell you guys were talking aboot, weren't those cars all destroyed< or am i thinking of something else?

thought it had something to do with leases and GM being generally stupid.

on a side note, we have guys and gals here who have done what others said were not possible so i'm sure you would be able to fab something up if needed, how bad do you want it?

Actaully sergei, i already have the gas door shaved, well almost. When i get it back from shop ill save up a few more beans and get the door removed. My gas filler has been behing the passanger side tail light for over 8 months.

thats awesome, i've always liked the look of a smooth exterior. not enough money to do anything right now (college+going out+random spending sprees) but i'd like to start playing with the car once i prioritize my spending and get more money heading my way. Any pictures of the relocated gas filler? i couldnt find any in the registry.

oh yea... you like "lawn mower racing"? nice.
