Cheap hood?
Tuesday, May 23, 2006 6:51 PM
not sure that cheap hoods exist, but, I am looking for a cheap Carbon Fiber hood for a 03+ cavalier. anyone have any links? It doesnt have to be show quality, although that would be nice, I dont have the money for a $500+ show hood. so whats floating around thats cheap these days? if i could find a really good deal i would look into fiberglass, but since it would need painted, it would need to be cheap, im on a really tight budget.

thanks in advance for the help guys and gals!

Don't call your hoods cheap they are "inexpensive", and look kicka$$ for what they cost!

hrm....Wolfy(matt) from our local carclub has purchased all his sunfires exterior stuff through you guys, thats a definate possibility. my hood got a nasty dimple in it from a Weapon R intake, and it has slightly warped the whole hood. i dont have the body work experience to take care of a huge slight dimple such as this, not to mention the main dimple where the intake was needs to be heated up and shrunk down, and then i gotta buy about 150 bucks worth of red paint and the hardners and reducers, ect to shoot it. so, im leaning towards carbon fiber

thanks for the link

man, i was hoping to get a couple more responces to this...anyone know where you can find a B grade hood? thats a pretty good deal, but 300+ is still alot of money. i guess though i may end up having to spend it though, fiberglass hoods seem to all be around 500 bucks and carbon fiber, well, cheapest i have found is 300 bucks, aplus isnt far behind with their 329...guess i will have to start saving my pennies dimes and nickels eh?

P.S. i would even take a lower grade CF hood and paint over it just for the savings in weight and to save myself the hassle of fixing my dented and warped hood. any more replies would be greatly appriciated.
